STORYBOARD

(In this storyboard i completed 12 boxes for my storyboard. while completing this task i had learned how important storyboarding is and why it is used, in my projects i mostly make up short stories so i need a storyboard to guide me on where to go next, with this task i didn’t find anything to challenging however, i’m not too good at drawing so that was a little difficult but in the end i did it even if it was a rough and messy idea of what was going through my head for this task not only that but i struggled at first to have a clear image in mind, finally i redrew it twice once without the storyboard and one with. i did however look up some reference from Disney storyboarding so that did also help me overcome a problem or two, furthermore there are a few things i would change next time e.g. i’d write in each sequence on what was going on in the scene and id go over the important parts in colour to make sure i got them to stand out in my board as well as a guidance for others incase they used it in a group.)

NASA POSTER

(In this NASA poster i completed two however i can not find the second one. while completing this task i had learned how to use some tools on photoshop and why it is used, in my projects sometimes i create posters to give more of a visual element to guide me on where to go next, with this task i didn’t find anything to challenging however, i’m not too good at using photoshop so that was a little difficult but in the end i did it even if it was a rough and messy idea of what was going through my head for this task not only that but i struggled at first to have a clear image in mind, finally i made the poster, twice. one with guidance and one without. I did however look up some reference from other NASA posters, so that did also help me overcome a problem or two and guided me to be more open with creativity. Furthermore I would have liked a little more freedom in some sense, this was a very guided task which meant our outcome as individuals had to be simplified but i would love to have a chance with more photoshop.)

CHESS PROJECT

(In this first mini group project. i completed one short “chess game” however i feel that it could of played out better/been longer. while completing this task i had learned how to use some tools on premier pro adobe and why it is used to edit and colour, in my projects sometimes i get too stuck in my head/too ambitious with group work because in the end it never is balanced with equal work throughout the team, with this task i didn’t find anything to challenging however it was my first time properly editing something using adobe, i’m not too good at using adobe when it comes to editing so that was a little difficult but in the end i did it, even if it was a first try, i am still learning so i will eventually get better and will be more comfortable with using such software and even if it was a rough and messy idea of what was going through my head for the first time not only that but i struggled at first to have a clear image in mind and what i wanted out of it in the end, finally i clipped and got some form of idea down, i did have guidance from peers and feedback on what to change. I did however look up some reference from other short videos using this form of software and how to make it cleaner looking, so that did also help me overcome a problem or two and guided me to be more open with creativity and have more of a clear understanding while using this software. Furthermore, i’d would change a handful of things with this little group project, as a group this was a first time working together however some wanted more control and thought their ideas were unbeatable however a lot of people had not had as chance to share their ideas or even support one another because certain people kept trying to take control, i would have like to share more of my ideas because to me personally all felt very similar while mind had a different view point. as well as the plot/storyline was not as exciting for a first little project so everyone got bored and there was not a lot of enthusiasm.)

PHOTOGRAPHY WORK (lighting)

(In this MINI TASK, we had to explore different lighting and the elements of which changed due to different sources of lighting. as a group we had to take pictures using the lights to demonstrate how we could show off each genre or emotion, however me and faith were the main objects of these shots. while completing this task i had learned how to use lighting and what important names each stage of lighting had and why they are used throughout media, in my projects sometimes i need more of a visual topic or task because sometimes i find it hard to picture anything in my head this is why a lot of actual hands on topics such as this one can be helpful, i can clearly see what emotion/genre we were trying to use, with this task i didn’t find anything to challenging however, i’m not too good at photography because it is such a still task that you need to be able to capture your point instead of making it more interpreted, i understanding you can do this with any media form but photography just is not a strong suit for me. so that was a little difficult but in the end i did it even if it was a messy idea of what was going through my head for this task not only that but i struggled at first to have a clear image in mind for each genre/emotion we were trying to portray, finally we switched up the lighting for the subjects of each image, one with guidance from a lecturer and the rest without. I did however look up some reference from other lighting tasks like our own, so that did also help me overcome a problem or two and guided me to be more open with creativity as well as photography. Furthermore I would have liked a little more freedom in some sense, this was another very guided task which meant our outcome as individuals had to be simplified but i would love to have a chance with more photography, it was a free task as well as it being guided because we had to show the emotions/genre we were given we were not so much allowed to create our own.)

CAMERA – TRIPOD

(In this task we had to learn and set up the tripod. This was a class task so it took longer to do, we then played a “game” to see who could set up the tripod up at certain heights, it was to make us remember how to set it up in the future, i did not learn much in this lesson because i already knew how to set it up from previous clubs/lessons (before college.)

This lesson just helped with memory mostly however I did manage to teach/help others in my group set it up. It has a simple set up, from cover/bag to standing up right itself. i would however i’d like to do more lessons with the equipment e.g. tripods, lighting, mics

CAMERA – EQUIPMENT

(This lesson/task was about cameras and the settings we could/should use when filming as creative media students. This also taught us how to put the battery and SD card in and out of the camera, however this took longer to do because it was a class task but in the end we knew what to do with the cameras and how to navigate around them because i took photography as a GCSE subject I already knew my way to get around a camera however it was good to refresh my memory.

GIMBAL – WORK SHOTS
