Narrative

Which narrative theory /theories best relates to your chosen product (medium) The medium I have chosen is ‘Binary oppostions’ “strong vs weak” / “good vs evil” this is to show two different ‘sides’ of wrath. Narrative is a story or of written events. Genre, which comes from the French word for ‘type’, is important for both consumers and media producers, this is to show what type of film/tv you might be viewing and to show which genre producers are working with etc.

Strong vs weak and good vs evil -the sticks fight for survival using each other to make the fire stronger.

2- https://youtu.be/vJGvSbHmeco This video- short animation is portraying ‘Strong vs weak’ -the people fighting are trying to win the fight, the Strong vs weak has gone back and forth to balance it out.

Moving forward, in what ways might you consider to embed narrative in your project?

In my project I have considered using TZVETAN TODOROV -Equilibrium Theory but I would personally not use IT because I’m not making my animation into a ‘story’ (like toy story) and I’m not using Propps characters- models theory because personally my character is only one person and I do not have more than one character and I do not want to split my character to fit each. So finally, I am using the Binary oppostions so I can do the ‘vs’ however they can all be used to show characters and development in animation
